Naomi House - A children's hospice that provides support to children, with life-limiting conditions, and their families from across the Wessex Region.
Riding for the Disabled - The Newbury group are based in Hampstead Norreys and take approximately 70 children each week for lessons where they learn not only how to ride a pony but gain in confidence, independance and benefit from the exercise.
Newbury Volunteer Drivers - Helps those people who are unable to use public transport to get to appointments of all kinds, such as to the doctors, clinics, opticians, dentists, hospitals, day centres, visiting a friend or loved one, or just to get out to do a bit of shopping.
Previous Years
In 2005 we managed to raise 10,000 for Macmillan Nurses. This represented the largest donation they had ever received from a local fundraising event.
In 2006 we had an incredible year and raised £12,000. The Charities supported were Macmillan Nurses and Daisy's Dream.
In 2007 we raised £10,500 for Macmillan Nurses, the Duchess of Kent's Hospice in Reading and the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.
In 2008 we raised another £10,500 for Multiple sclerosis, Friends of the Charles Clore Unit and the Spring Charity.
In 2009 the lovely weather and a lot of generosity meant we raised £12,000 for Swings & Smiles, Jack's Place and Chox.
The fayre has been able to raise a lot of money over the years through the efforts and generosity of the local community. We would like to thank all the people who give up their time to help set up and run the fayre, the local businesses who donate prizes and support the fayre and to the people who attend in their droves enjoying the day and spending money on the stalls.
Thank you for making the Chapel Row Fayre so much fun and so successful for its charities.
